What will you do as Senior Fundraising Manager? Reporting to the Director of Fundraising and Major Appeal, you will lead SAMH’s Community and Events Fundraising team and Fundraising Operations team, delivering innovative campaigns and strategies to meet and exceed income targets. This high-profile role is a blend of strategic leadership, operational management, and hands-on fundraising, ensuring SAMH continues to be a trusted and respected charity partner. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership:
Collaborate closely with the Director of Fundraising and Major Appeal to develop and deliver an integrated fundraising strategy that supports SAMH’s growth and impact for the future. Team Development:
Lead, inspire, and develop a team of two Fundraising Managers/Operations Managers, providing clear direction, performance management, and ongoing professional development. Income Generation:
Oversee the planning and execution of multi-year fundraising campaigns, meeting ambitious targets and delivering tangible results. Financial and Operational Oversight:
Oversee fundraising budgets, ensuring accurate tracking, analysis, and reporting of income and expenditure providing regular updates to the Director of Fundraising and Major Appeal on financial performance, variance analysis, and areas for improvement. Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and maintain relationships with donors, acting as an ambassador for SAMH. Operational Oversight:
Ensure effective use of CRM systems, compliance with UK charity regulations, and robust budget management. Reporting:
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor progress against income targets, campaign success, and team performance. Provide regular reports and updates to senior management, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for development. What does SAMH need from you? Experience: Demonstrated success in leading fundraising teams to achieve substantial income targets. Proven experience in Community and Events Fundraising with a rounded understanding of Fundraising Operations. Expertise in developing and implementing multi-year fundraising strategies. Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and analysing performance data. Membership of the Institute of Fundraising or Chartered Institute of Marketing. (Desirable) Familiarity with mental health services and the wider charity landscape in Scotland. (Desirable) Key Skills and Attributes: Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders. Understanding of current legislation, policies and issues affecting fundraising and the charity sector including GDPR. Experience of planning and introducing new funding areas to an organisation. Ability to gain results working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and on own initiative. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including confidence in public speaking/presentations and report writing. Competence in using CRM systems and databases to manage donor information and track progress – desirable. What is in it for you?
