Senior Health and Safety Advisor focuses on provide expert legal and technical health and safety advice on complex and high‑risk issues.

What the role involves

• Provide expert legal and technical health and safety advice on complex and high‑risk issues.
• Leading specific specialist areas such as fire safety, audit programmes, risk frameworks, contractor safety or systems.
• Review and embedding of health and safety policies, procedures and management systems.
• Leading the health and safety audit programme, including planning, quality assurance, reporting and follow‑up.
• Carry out audits and inspections of higher‑risk or complex services.
• Leading or support investigations into serious incidents, including RIDDOR‑reportable events.

Skills and requirements

• Significant experience in a health & safety role within a multi-site organisation.
• Proven experience of audits, inspections, incident investigation and compliance monitoring.
• Manage priorities and exercise sound professional judgement.
• Lead Auditor qualification (e.g. ISO 45001).
