Senior Health Care Assistant - Bryn Hesketh Ward

Central to this journey will be the contribution of our Healthcare Support Workers. Your role will be key in the organisation, complementing the expertise of other experienced nurses in a fast-paced Mental Health & Learning Disability Division. With an integrated approach to health care, you'll have the opportunity to work across different sites and develop innovative and effective approaches to patient care and service delivery across a large geographical area. Main duties of the job

To provide day-to-day care for patients under the supervision of a registered nurse, adhering to best practices, standards, and guidelines, and contributing towards patient care and treatment. With strong team working skills, you will demonstrate values that are important to us, communicating well with both colleagues and patients. You should have the vision and ability to help move the service forward, while getting the best out of your colleagues and team, never compromising on quality and treating others with respect and dignity. We believe in accountability and shared responsibility, so you'll have plenty of peer support too. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. About us

Qualifications/Skills/Experience

Willingness to undertake an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mental health care provision, or to be working towards level 3 to be achieved within 18 months of appointment. Relevant experience in providing care to patients with mental health needs. Previous experience within the mental health care setting. Ability to work under supervision. Ability to communicate and receive information. Ability to maintain records. Participation in clinical supervision. Ability and fitness to undertake physical intervention training. Ability to work on a shift rotation of days and nights over a 7-day period. Evidence of effective team working. Flexibility to adapt to organisational changes as well as changes within the Unit. Welsh speaker. Knowledge of the principles of recovery for individuals with mental health problems. IT Skills. NVQ Level 2 in health and social care. Other Relevant Requirements
