SENIOR HEALTHCARE SUPPORT WORKER (BAND 3)

Salary:

£26,869 - £28,998 pro-rata

An exciting opportunity has arisen for dedicated and compassionate individuals for the role of Healthcare Support Workers in Cambusavie Unit at Lawson Memorial Hospital, Golspie, in the heart of Sutherland. Cambusavie Unit provides care to up to 16 inpatients requiring acute treatment for illness, led by our GP team, with social assessment and rehabilitation provided by our allied healthcare professional team (AHP).

As a healthcare support worker, you will work under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) providing care as prescribed. This includes, but is not limited to, personal care, assisting patients with nutritional and hydration needs, engaging them in meaningful activities, and assisting the RN in their tasks. You will work as part of the multidisciplinary team providing care for patients and will be expected to contribute in daily and weekly meetings discussing the patient’s journey, along with assisting the AHP team in delivering therapy.

Successful candidates will complete the Healthcare Support Worker Induction program and will be assigned an experienced Healthcare Support Worker “buddy” and a registered nurse who will oversee their induction and facilitate any necessary learning and development, including organizational and role mandatory learning. Further opportunities for skill acquisition and role development will be provided through annual appraisals, with a personal development plan established.

This is a permanent part-time post of 30.13 hours, covering a 7-day rota and working a rotational contract (days and nights) in accordance with service requirements. A split of hours/job-share will also be considered for the right candidates.
