Role Overview The HV Cable Design Engineer will be working on electrical projects on behalf of the Company and will involve projects ranging from LV through to 400kV. It will involve working as part of a team to Review Distribution Network Operator (DNO) Contestable Connection Offers and compiling contestable and private designs for grid connections ranging from LV up to and including 400kV. They will also be required to assist in the conceptual design of various types of energy projects, principally Solar Farms, Battery Energy Storage and Gas Peak Power generation facilities. What will you be doing? The design and Conceptual design of both the grid connection and private network infrastructure from LV up to and including 132kV Produce or review the HV cable aspects of different projects including onshore cable projects, offshore export cable and interconnectors Attending site visits, FAT and SAT and commissioning as required The management of the design of projects on both the grid connection and private network infrastructure from LV up to and including 132kV Produce designs that follow EP policies, UK standards and legislation, DNO/IDNO policies and employer’s requirements What are we looking for? Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering AutoCAD experience Experience in Contracting/Consulting or working with IDNO’s, DNO’s or ICP’s Experience in the design, manufacture and testing of HV Cables for use in HVAC and HVDC projects both onshore and offshore Experience in HV Cable system design and ratings (CYMCAP, ELEK e.t.c) An understanding of IEC cable standards and CIGRE technical policies, its suite of technical specifications and supporting documentation Why join us?
