Neo Environmental, an award-winning planning and environmental consultancy, has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Hydrologist to be based out of our Warrington, Bristol, or Glasgow office and work on a broad variety of projects.
The position will offer the right individual the opportunity to work for a well-established and growing planning and environmental consultancy.
The successful candidate will work on projects including residential schemes, infrastructure, and energy projects. The ideal candidate will be able to work with a high degree of independence as well as in teams.
Duties
Management and delivery of Flood Risk Assessment, SuDs schemes, etc.
Understanding of hydraulic modelling and associated reports
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Organising and conducting site visits, attending team and client meetings
Undertaking extensive modelling work and report writing
Essential Criteria
Relevant hydrology qualification as well as being chartered or working towards chartership (preferably ICE or CIWEM)
Experience completing Flood Risk Assessments, Surface Water Management Plans
Demonstrable experience of the successful delivery of hydrology reports
Good knowledge and understanding of UK legislation
Attention to detail, reliability, and good organisational skills are essential.
Experienced in GIS and other software packages
Full driving license
Desirable Criteria
Master’s degree relevant to hydrology
Hydraulic modelling experience
Experience in peat stability and related assessments
Strong scientific and engineering knowledge in relation to hydrology
Tendering/bid preparation experience
Production of EIA Chapters
Hydraulic Modelling using Flood Modeller Pro, HEC-RAS, or similar programme
