In this new role to Severn Trent, we’re looking for a

Senior IT Software Engineer

who will be responsible for the stabilisation, integration and continued maintenance for the Salesforce application into our business. As an expert in the field you will get involved in the designing, creating, and managing of the software throughout its lifecycle, as well as overseeing progress of all work streams where it is used. As a technical expert you’ll analyse our user needs and requirements, making design recommendations, and coding or configuring solutions to achieve our ongoing business objectives. There will be close collaboration with our Enterprise & Solution Architects to ensure the future of the applications is fit for purpose. Other key accountabilities include: Provide customer service support by troubleshooting application issues and documenting root cause, keeping stakeholders always updated. Ensure standard requests are completed for the business within SLA and small application changes are delivered in line with priorities, keeping business stakeholders always updated. Work with architects and other colleagues to ensure software upgrades are completed as required to keep applications in support and patched. Collaborate with architects, engineers and developers to design solutions that meet business requirements, including the E2E solution development lifecycle (SDLC). WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

We’ll be looking for you to have proven experience working with Salesforce as a Senior Software Developer, Software Engineer, or similar role, ideally in an ITIL environment. Due to the varied nature of the stakeholders you’ll be working with, having the ability to influence and negotiate will be beneficial along with knowledge of working in a customer-focused organisation. We’ll want you to have a troubleshooting mindset and resourcefulness which will help you grow in the role. We want you to be a great problem solver with a drive to deliver on solutions as well as a continuous improvement and analytical nature, which will help you to identify application enhancements and improve business performance through analysis of incidents and problems.
