Associate Director - IT Recruitment GB and Ireland at MCS Group | Your Specialist Recruitment Consultancy

MCS Group is seeking to connect with a Senior IT Systems Administrator for a brand-new entrant to the local market in Northern Ireland. The Senior Systems Engineer will be the first hire on the ground for our client and will work specifically on a super interesting, complex project in a company which operates in a truly unique domain. This is a perfect opportunity for a senior IT Support professional who still wants to remain hands-on, work across servers, networks, security and advanced desktop support, while at the same time getting a career-defining portfolio of projects (and company) on their CV. Please note that this is a fixed-term 3 year contract and is fully on-site in the Greater Belfast area. Salary will range up to £85,000, depending on experience. The Role The Senior Systems Administrator will immerse themselves in a technical role encompassing Network Engineering, Server troubleshooting, Security, Storage and highly advanced technical support. Day-to-day you will have responsibility for maintaining and troubleshooting a complex infrastructure environment across networks (Cisco), storage and servers. You'll be responsible for ensuring there is no production downtime, including VLAN assignment, VMs, mobile device configuration, switch management and WAP configuration. You'll offer advanced technical support to end-users, across hardware and software issues on desktops and laptops. You'll be responsible for keeping good documentation across the technology ecosystem. Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching. Familiarity with server hardware, virtualisation, and storage solutions. Expertise in advanced desktop support for both Windows and macOS platforms. Experience with image creation and booting (PXEBoot). Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are a plus. Experience with AVOIP, broadcast technologies, telecoms or media technologies would be highly advantageous. Full right to work in the UK and comfortable working fully on-site (there's free parking and outside of Belfast city centre). To speak in absolute confidence about this opportunity, please send an up-to-date CV via the link provided or contact Chris Busby, Associate Director - IT Recruitment UK & Ireland, at MCS Group.
