I am working with one of the leading names in house building and place-making, and they are looking to strengthen the team with a senior land manager.
The role would focus on identifying, negotiating, and acquiring new sites in Hertfordshire, North London, and Buckinghamshire, and working closely with land agents and housing associations to secure new sites. You would report to the Land Director and have full autonomy over projects, with the position being a high-profile one in the business.
You will have a portable book of contacts in the residential development agency world and a demonstrable history. You will have an intimate knowledge of the planning process and know how to project manage planning applications through the planning system.
You will work closely with internal and external consultants to successfully manage the projects through the development lifecycle.
Ideally, you will currently be working for one of the leading house builders or residential property developers, but I am also keen to hear from senior candidates working in development consultancy.
It is essential that you have experience in land buying for large PLC house builders or residential developers and that you have worked in Hertfordshire, North London, and Buckinghamshire.

Sourcing off-market land for purchase in North London, Hertfordshire, and Buckinghamshire Keeping contact with housing associations looking to do partnership JVs Liaising and negotiating with landowners and agents of potential purchases Overseeing legal, planning, and design consultants pre and post-acquisition Keeping up to date with town planning policy, specifically in key areas you are targeting for letter writing Expected Experiences
Degree-qualified, ideally in a property-related field Natural born deal maker, consistently doing 3-4 land deals a year Experienced senior land manager or land manager ready to make the step up Demonstrable track record of sourcing and acquiring land in Hertfordshire, North London, and Buckinghamshire Currently working for either a national residential developer or a high-profile investor or agency Detailed understanding of the planning application and appeals process A strong network of contacts in the land agency world Determined, hungry, and ambitious Ability to work autonomously and independently from the rest of the team
