By taking the time to get to know our clients’ businesses and the people that run them, our Commercial lawyers pride themselves on being an extension of their clients’ internal teams. As their trusted advisers, we are someone they return to again and again – whether to use as a sounding board for day to day queries, or to run major contract negotiations. We are a firm committed to the wellbeing of our colleagues and take great pride in maintaining a culture which places genuine value on a compassionate and inclusive team environment. We act for a range of clients including owner-managed businesses and start-ups, with particular experience of advising clients in the IT and software, manufacturing, professional services and retail sectors. We are now keen to hear from a senior, experienced and aspirational lawyer who is looking for the next challenge in their professional career. The role Working closely with others in a collegiate and supportive environment, you will take a lead role in advising clients on a broad range of commercial matters, including supply and purchase contracts, intellectual property licences, IT agreements, and e-commerce and data protection compliance. You will be given the space to invest time and energy in building long-lasting, sustainable relationships with actual and potential clients. You will need to be an experienced lawyer, ideally with at least 4 years PQE. You will also need to have proven expertise in all aspects of commercial matters. This is likely to mean that you have handled complex contract negotiations, drafted standard contractual documentation and advised on most aspects of data protection, e-commerce and consumer law compliance. You must be able to engage with clients, to act as their trusted advisor. It is essential that you are people-focused, approachable and keen to assist with the development of others. Team fit is therefore vital. You will also need to be personable, possess sound judgment, an analytical mind and a confident approach. If you have experience in mid-market and large corporate transactions and are keen to work alongside our quality team of corporate lawyers then please get in touch. We can offer you a successful and thriving practice, with high quality work and a great team of people around you. Schofield Sweeney will be a great place for you to achieve your career ambitions.
