Senior Legal Counsel – Insurance - 6 month FTC
Our client is one of the largest global life and health reinsurance companies in the world, with operations in 26 countries. It is a market leader in life and health reinsurance solutions.
The UK legal team is headquartered in the City of London and provides full legal support across the jurisdiction, including Northern Ireland. An opportunity has arisen for an insurance lawyer to join the business on a 6-month fixed term contract.
Responsibilities:
Provide advice on a wide range of issues including insurance and reinsurance agreements, claims, tech and data protection matters, regulatory questions, and general commercial.
Focus on the Middle East jurisdiction; previous experience in that jurisdiction is advantageous.
Minimum Requirements:
Admitted to practice law in a leading recognised jurisdiction.
At least 3 years of work experience, ideally in insurance (contentious or non-contentious).
Preferable Middle East experience and highly desirable Arabic language skills.
Strong negotiation and drafting skills.
Ability to demonstrate initiative and take responsibility.
Must be motivated, well-organised, able to multi-task, and work independently as well as part of a team.
Opportunities of this calibre do not come up often, and although it is a fixed term contract, it provides an excellent opportunity to gain in-house experience or deepen existing experience.
