What will you do The Legal Director is responsible for ensuring comprehensive legal support to the Kenvue Consumer Health business in Northern Europe, including the UK, Ireland and the Nordics. This role is crucial in supporting the business in achieving its goals while safeguarding the company’s rights, interests and reputation. You will be based in the UK and report to the EMEA Regional Counsel. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the broader legal team, both within EMEA and globally, on cross-regional areas of work and projects. Job content / Key accountabilities Strategic leadership, by serving as a member of the Northern European leadership, providing expert advice and guidance at all levels. Team management: leading and managing a legal team, ensuring high performance and professional development. Providing comprehensive advice on a broad range of matters related to our brands, including compliance with advertising regulations, consumer laws, competitor challenges, sponsorship deals, IP advice, creative agency agreements, in and out-licensing, manufacturing contracts, media contracts and consumer complaints. Business models and transactions review, demonstrating a strong understanding of applicable laws and regulations, including competition law. Training and development of business colleagues to enhance their legal awareness and compliance. Defending brand advertising challenges through the Advertising Standards Authority and collaborating as part of a cross-functional team to challenge competitors on advertising claims in accordance with the CAP and/or PAGB Codes. External engagement, active participation in legal committees of trade associations and monitoring new laws and regulations that could impact the business. Outside counsel management, including the legal budget for Northern Europe. What we are looking for English law qualification. Law degree and significant post-qualification professional experience, acquired in a leading law firm and/or law department of a multinational corporation. Expertise in the following specialized legal areas: Commercial law and complex/innovative contracting. Competition law (pricing/discounts/rebates/dominant products/anti-competitive practices). Knowledge of UK CAP and BCAP Codes. Relevant European legislation. Fluency in English (oral and written). The ideal candidate should possess the following qualities: Excellent communication, listening and influential skills combined with a high level of emotional intelligence. People management experience is an asset. Highly organized and detail oriented, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Previous in-house experience, preferably in the FMCG sector. Provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice and be solutions orientated. Forge strong internal relationships across different functions and geographies, demonstrating a collaborative attitude and the ability to work with and relate to all levels and teams within the organization. Demonstrate good business acumen, intellectual curiosity, strategic thinking and the ability to collaborate effectively, both within and outside Northern Europe. Be comfortable with ambiguity, maintain a high level of integrity and credibility in a fast-paced, highly matrixed work environment, balancing the interests and needs of various stakeholders.
