Based in Homerton Hospital Psych Liaison Team (HPM), the Senior Liaison Practitioner role involves giving clinical guidance to junior staff and SHOs across the Crisis Pathway as needed, taking on complex clinical cases, and working independently to deliver high quality crisis assessment work. This role also involves triage shifts, which are 14:00-22:00, during which short triage assessments are completed using your enhanced clinical expertise to quickly conclude suitability for next destination.

Managerial aspects involve supervision of several B6 staff, and leadership of significant parts of service improvement, quality assurance, and relational building with our stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be expected to support the rest of the Crisis Pathway as needed, with frequent input into the Crisis Assessment team in particular being part of the role.

Person Specification Experience

Essential

Substantial post qualification experience in the field of mental health crisis Experience of working in a multidisciplinary mental health team Previous experience at working autonomously Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment and of ensuring that nursing practice is culturally sensitive Extensive and demonstrable experience of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care Essential and demonstrable experience of writing concise and clear clinical reports Experience of contributing to the development of new services preferably in mental health Experience of leadership roles, or displaying the qualities of leadership as possible. Experience of leading on quality improvement work

Education/ Qualification/ Training

Essential

Registered Mental Health Nurse, Registered Social Worker Current Professional Registration Mentorship Preparation or equivalent Recognized post registration training CBT and/or brief intervention /solution focused therapy and /or motivational interviewing or willingness to undertake Risk assessment and management training or willingness to undertake
