Senior Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) Salary - £42,708 - £47,754 (Grade 7) Hours - 37 Contract type - full time, permanent We are looking to recruit a dynamic and highly motivated Senior Maintenance Engineer to work within the existing Engineering team for the City of Wolverhampton Council, working under the direction of the Building Engineering Manager. Call-out and weekend working will be an essential part of this role. Role Responsibilities: Lead engineering repairs and maintenance across various plant systems. Conduct building services inspections and condition surveys. Manage maintenance projects from inception to completion, including work programmes and budgets. Liaise with stakeholders and manage staff and contractors. Key Requirements: Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (NVQ Level 6, or equivalent experience). Substantial post-qualification experience in engineering building services maintenance. Expertise in the current edition of IET electrical installation regulations, along with previous editions. Experience with BMS control systems (ideally Schneider/Trend), gas systems, commercial heating, fire alarm testing, Legionella, water treatment, and more. Knowledge of Asbestos awareness, lift inspections, and managing term and framework contractors. Strong understanding of legislative requirements such as Gas Regs, ACOP L8 (Legionella), and IEE Regulations.
