Full-time Role Overview

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will support the smooth running of the Finance Department. This is a hands-on role supporting the Financial Controller to meet reporting deadlines and ensure that robust business processes and controls are in place. What will you be doing?

Assist with the month-end process to ensure that Group reporting timetables are adhered to. Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts including Profit and Loss account and Balance Sheet, including variance analysis. Review inventory including price and usage variances, standard costs, and analysis of slow-moving inventory. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Monitor projects. Support ongoing ERP developments and identify opportunities for process efficiencies and automation. Liaise with budget holders. Support the Financial Controller to ensure internal controls are implemented. Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process. Assist with year-end work including liaison with auditors. Ensure compliance with HMRC requirements. Ensure compliance with IFRS accounting standards. Provide guidance and support to junior finance team members. What are we looking for?

Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with at least 2 years of post-qualified experience. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in cost accounting and financial analysis in a manufacturing setting. Confident and effective communicator with a good level of written and oral English. IT skills including Excel. Experience supervising staff.
