Senior Manager - Architect Connectivity Platform
We are seeking a Senior Connectivity Architect to join our Technology Platform group, to provide world leading domain expertise towards Liberty Global’s markets and product teams in the pursuit of new innovative Connectivity Use Cases, supervising their definition, design and development through leadership and guidance of large scale delivery partners.
In this role, you will:
Oversee LG’s One Connect Platform architecture, a powerful cloud based micro service platform, orchestrating a growing number of connectivity services, across our in-home WiFi, Cloud Components and Customer Apps, for our fixed (Cable and Fibre) and mobile footprint.
Collaborate with our key partners across Liberty Global product teams, and our 5 key markets, working together to refine our technical functional & non-functional requirements.
Act as a domain expert on OneConnect and related technologies for Liberty & be the go-to contact for markets on the same.
Work with our internal delivery teams and external delivery partners to review and refine design and delivery choices.
Lead architectural review of partner design proposals and safeguard LG’s interests by upholding architectural principles.
Carry out technology prototype activity to explore art-of the possible integrations.
Face into industry bodies and service provider peers to keep abreast & influence connectivity developments & standardization.
Brief senior management both in Liberty and our markets on key technology evolution and opportunities.
Assist in M&A and Liberty Ventures technical due diligence.
Overall you will be the champion and guardian of our One Connect Platform, supervising its development and evolution.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Lead the architectural vision & strategy for Liberty Global’s cloud-based platforms, services and apps.
Act as the principal technical interface and domain expert towards LG’s markets.
Collaborate closely with our markets and product teams to understand requirements.
Guide & articulate the One Connect Roadmap.
Provide technical leadership to multi-functional teams.
Identify the right partnerships for One Connect.
Proactively identify and mitigate architectural risks.
One Connect Subject Matter Expert, supervising high-level architectural designs.
Drive the annual POR (Plan of Record).
Represent One Connect Tech Platform towards our internal and external partners.
Stay on top of regulatory, privacy & security compliance topics.
Create and maintain detailed technical documentation & recommendations.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE Essential skills & abilities:
Proven experience as a Technology Architect.
Technology-based product and platform development background.
Demonstrable experience of major developments and deliveries of strategic technology initiatives.
Strong experience providing technical assessments.
Solid grounding in data privacy and information security principles.
Good overall knowledge of telecommunications technologies.
Optional: Experience working in a lead technical or product role for Software as a Service business.
Expertise in microservices architecture.
In-depth understanding of cloud platforms.
Desirable skills & abilities:
Creation and dissemination of clear, concise and accurate analysis and guidance.
Ability to rapidly absorb new technical skills and knowledge.
Ability to work independently as well as within teams.
Creative thought and problem solving.
Highly numerate and analytic.
Fluent spoken and written English.
Ability to engage effectively at all levels of an organization.
Self-motivated and proactive.
Able to work under pressure.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree level or equivalent in a STEM subject.
