About the Role Classification: Locally Engaged Staff (LES) Salary Range: Commensurate with experience Work Location: Victorian Government Trade & Investment (VGTI) office, Jakarta Employment Type: Fixed Term – 2-year contract An opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional with a background in international trade and business development, together with a detailed understanding of the global business environment, to join the Victorian Government Trade & Investment (VGTI) network. Reporting to the Senior Director, Trade & Investment, this position is responsible for the development and management of commercial activities, strategic projects, as well as raising awareness of the trade and upskilling capability of Victoria, Australia within Indonesia and Southeast Asia. The successful applicant will collaborate with colleagues across Victorian Government offices in Southeast Asia and in Melbourne to help deliver successful economic outcomes for Victoria. Successful Candidate The successful candidate will possess: Global Business Expertise: An excellent understanding of the global business environment, in particular the nuance of exporting to Indonesia, and knowledge of Victoria's international competitive advantages. Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to manage complex projects, develop strategic initiatives, and deliver measurable outcomes. Relationship Building: Superior communication and stakeholder management skills and an ability to conduct high level commercial negotiations and influence key decision makers. Analytical Acumen: Proven research and analytical experience in industry and economic development issues, with the ability to develop and deliver successful presentations. Language Proficiency: Fluency in Bahasa Indonesian and English. The successful candidate for this locally engaged position will be responsible for all arrangements and costs in relation to relocation expenses (if applicable), their visa, accommodation and day-to-day living expenses.
