Senior Finance Manager

to support the Head of Finance in the running of the department. You should have a can-do attitude and be comfortable working independently. This is a role for the group and will develop and evolve as the company continues to grow. We are looking for a chartered accountant with strong technical capabilities who is looking for their first or second move into industry but will equally consider others who have had alternative experiences. About CatSci Group CatSci Group, based in Cardiff, UK, is an innovation partner to the chemical research, development, and manufacturing industries, specialising in process research and development for manufacturing drug substance and other high value materials. CatSci has extensive knowledge and expertise in a wide range of chemistry from discovery support through to full scale manufacturing and life-cycle management. Your Impact as Senior Finance Manager The post will report to the Head of Finance and tasks may include: Gathering and monitoring financial data. Leading month-end and year-end close processes for group companies. Leading the preparation and review of group monthly and annual reporting including the finance pack. Preparation of technical papers outlining group accounting decisions. Continued development of the ERP and other systems, focussing on key areas to achieve aims of automated processes and improved financial reporting. Lead the monitoring, review and testing of internal controls. Lead the preparation of year end accounts. Lead the audit process, including the preparation and review of audit deliverables and the audit timeline. Lead the preparation and review of corporation tax information. Deputising for the Head of Finance when required. Ad-hoc financial reporting tasks. The role will be a hybrid role with the expectation of a Monday and Wednesday in the office and the other days working from home (or the office if it suits you better). In addition, there may be times where additional hours are required to meet the needs of the business. Knowledge and skills Chartered Accountant (ACA or ACCA). Team leadership skills. Strong technical financial accounting skills. A desire to work in a dynamic and rapidly expanding environment. Comfortable working independently. Experience of finance systems. Self-motivated, enthusiastic and results-oriented with a clear focus on delivering objectives. Team player, able to manage stakeholders as required. Able to work with integrity and to maintain high levels of confidentiality. Willing to learn and drive own development; keen for challenging new experiences and to grow within the business. Thorough and methodical; motivated to see tasks through to their end. Strong communication skills. Experience of group accounting
