Senior Manufacturing Engineer Reports to:

Supply Chain Manager

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will play a critical role in optimizing our manufacturing processes, with a strong focus on packaging, layout design, and value stream management. This position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of automotive manufacturing and a proven track record of driving efficiency and quality improvements.

Your core responsibilities include:

Packaging Optimization:

Develop and implement packaging solutions that ensure the safe and efficient transport of automotive components. Collaborate with suppliers and logistics teams to minimize packaging costs while maintaining product integrity.

Layout Design:

Design and optimize manufacturing layouts to enhance workflow, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency. Utilize lean manufacturing principles to create layouts that support high productivity and safety standards.

Value Stream Management:

Analyze and improve value streams to eliminate non-value-added activities, reduce lead times, and enhance overall process efficiency. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.

Process Improvement:

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance manufacturing efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Utilize Six Sigma and other quality management tools to achieve measurable improvements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with design, production, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless integration of new products and processes. Provide technical expertise and support to resolve manufacturing issues.

Project Management:

Lead and manage projects related to manufacturing process improvements, new product introductions, and capacity expansions. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

Compliance and Safety:

Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines. Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the manufacturing team.

Profile and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within the automotive industry.

Proven experience in packaging optimization, layout design, and value stream management.

Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.

Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
