Can you help couples tying the knot in Cheshire East have the best day ever? Your warmth and personality will give them a ceremony to remember, but your attention to detail will ensure all the legalities that come with marriage and civil partnership are followed. Position: Senior Marriage Officer

Location: Cheshire East Register Office, Crewe Hours: 20 hours per week (annualised) with various shift patterns including weekends and bank holidays. Contract: 32 week fixed term contract from 15 March 2025 to 31 October 2025 Salary: Grade 5 £25,584 (pro rata per annum) The duties will include the registration and conducting of marriages and Civil Partnerships at the Register Office, hotels, and stately homes, along with associated administration duties pre and post ceremony. You will have excellent public speaking skills, be a confident IT user, and be enthusiastic about contributing to the future of this very important statutory service. You will be working with couples and stakeholders to ensure a high standard of service is delivered. A confident, tactful, and friendly approach is essential, as is the ability to conduct yourself in a professional manner (both in attitude and appearance) at all times. Your handwriting needs to be neat and legible, and the ability to work with keen attention to detail within a legal framework is an essential attribute for this important role. Interviews will be held at the end of January, with an anticipated starting date for this role of 15 March 2025.
