Job Title: Senior Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer Location: Glasgow (Head Office) Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 per year + Bonus Job Type: Full-time, Permanent The Opportunity CBW is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer to lead and manage mechanical design projects at our Glasgow headquarters. We’re looking for a candidate with a solid technical background in building services and extensive leadership experience. You’ll have the opportunity to work on bespoke and technically demanding projects in specialist and regulated sectors, collaborating with world-renowned clients. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with clients, internal design teams, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop technical solutions. Lead the mechanical design of systems including ductwork, piping, plumbing, and control systems. Ensure timely delivery of design packages while adhering to quality standards and project timelines. Conduct design and code reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Manage project budgets, timelines, and provide regular progress updates to senior management. Mentor and support junior designers, fostering their development and growth. What We're Looking For Degree in Building Services Engineering or a related field. Chartered Engineer status, or actively working towards it. 10+ years of experience in building services design, including at least 5 years in a leadership role. Strong technical expertise in HVAC systems and design principles. Ability to develop innovative, efficient, and cost-effective solutions from first principles. Familiarity with psychrometric calculations. Strong commercial awareness with excellent project management skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client and team relationships. Proficiency in software packages such as AutoCAD, Excel, Navisworks, with an understanding of Revit (though proficiency in Revit is not essential). Full UK driving licence.
