What will you be doing? As a
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
, you will join our team in
Fareham
to support our activities within the
Maritime
sector. Your main responsibilities will be: Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for marine electronic equipment, ensuring compliance with production and quality standards. Utilize your expertise in
Injection Molding (Plastics)
and
Casting
to design components that meet both functional and aesthetic requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, production, and quality control to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs into the production process. Apply
Material Change Management
processes to optimize material selection and design modifications for manufacturing efficiency and product performance. Create and review detailed CAD models and drawings using
SolidWorks
or similar CAD software. Ensure all designs meet the stringent requirements of the maritime sector, with a strong focus on durability, reliability, and compliance with industry regulations. Who are we looking for? 8+ years
of experience in mechanical design, ideally in the maritime or related sectors. Strong knowledge of
DFP ,
DFQ , and
DFM
principles. Proficiency in
CAD software , preferably
SolidWorks . Proven experience with
Injection Molding (Plastics)
and
Casting
processes. Solid understanding of
Material Change Management
