A well-established engineering organisation are looking to hire a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. The primary function of this NPI-focussed role is to design and develop a range of new products and technologies.
Key responsibilities include:
Working on exciting design projects from cradle to grave with a focus on new product development for cutting-edge technologies and products.
Working closely with project team members to ensure the successful delivery of a range of exciting projects.
Producing concept and detailed designs covering a broad product portfolio.
Ensuring optimum product quality using best practice techniques e.g. DFMEA, DFM, GD&T.
Producing relevant engineering documentation and ensuring design work is completed on time and within budget.
To be considered for this position, candidates need to have proven experience as a Design Engineer using a top-end 3D CAD package (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, Solid Edge, etc) and in delivering project from conception through to product release. It would be advantageous to have experience in Design for Manufacture, designing for harsh environments, and hold a formal qualification, i.e., Degree, HND, or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related subject.
