With a global client base, including Caterpillar, Siemens, GKN, and Samsung, our client has seen a significant increase in demand for their machinery and project solutions. They are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for candidates with strong design skills who are looking to advance their careers. The successful candidate will have the potential to step up to the position of Technical Manager within two to three years. The Role: As the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for working on new and existing product ranges, forging a strong partnership with shop floor and other engineering personnel. We are aiming to add a Senior Design Engineer to our team and are considering candidates both looking for a step up in their career and those who are established with extensive industry and design knowledge. You will take ownership of several design projects from start to finish. Some of the responsibilities for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will include: Management of design activities from concept through to production validation. The robust design of products in accordance with the department procedures. Investigating design factors such as function, materials, performance, interchangeability, cost, and operational efficiency. Preparation of project engineering data for new product assemblies and components, e.g., 3D/2D drawings, BOMs, technical specifications. Customer technical liaison on new projects, ensuring that the designs meet the customer's requirements and often exceed their expectations while remaining competitive to achieve sales growth and increase market share. FEA of critical components. The Candidate: To be successful in your application for the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role, you will need the following: Qualified to HND/Degree level in an engineering discipline, ideally Mechanical or Product Design. Possess a sound knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and product design processes. Ability to design in 2D and 3D using relevant CAD software. Experience of working in a manufacturing environment. Willingness to progress to a Technical Management role.
