A leading consultancy in the nuclear and defence sectors is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to take on a critical role in the review and acceptance of designs for a globally recognized project. Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Contract) Location: Silchester (Site 4 days) Contract Length: 12 Months Pay Rate: Up to £75/hour (Inside IR35)
Key Responsibilities: ·Lead the review and acceptance of technical design packages. ·Ensure designs meet high-quality standards and align with relevant codes and regulations. ·Oversee the production and verification of technical deliverables. ·Evaluate briefs, scopes of work, and fee/bid proposals. ·Provide input to refine and approve design practices and technical solutions. ·Coordinate and manage internal resources in support of design acceptance. ·Participate in internal and external progress, coordination, and design review meetings. Requirements: ·Relevant qualification in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering. ·Strong communication and presentation skills. ·Proficiency in technical software, drawing, and calculation tools. ·Achieved or working towards professional registration (CEng, MCIBSE, or equivalent).
