Parkside Recruitment are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic team in Oxford.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring they meet client requirements and are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Develop and implement innovative and sustainable mechanical design solutions for buildings and infrastructure, including HVAC systems, heating, cooling, and water supply.
  • Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure an integrated design approach.
  • Conduct detailed calculations, simulations, and design work using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and IES.
  • Oversee junior engineers, providing technical guidance and mentoring.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Attend client meetings, site visits, and design workshops, ensuring clear communication and effective project management.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices, particularly with respect to sustainable and low-carbon technologies.


Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it), with membership in a relevant professional body (CIBSE, IMechE, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in mechanical engineering design within the building services or construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical building services, including HVAC, energy systems, and water services.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and IES.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead projects and collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • A passion for sustainability and a commitment to delivering low-energy, environmentally responsible design solutions.


Desirable:

  • Experience in delivering BREEAM, WELL, or LEED certified projects.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy systems and low-carbon technologies.
