Life insurance Main Objectives / Purpose of the Role: Work on a variety of equipment designed for use in an engine/drivetrain test cell. Work in-house as part of the mechanical build team and aid workflow through the department. Perform basic quality checks and tests of the work produced by the mechanical team. Guide and support mechanical apprentices when required. Main Responsibilities / Accountabilities: Read and interpret drawings and bills of materials to assemble mechanical parts, products, and assemblies. Perform mechanical fitting of the range of designs produced by the mechanical design team. Ensure own work is delivered to the highest possible standards and in a timely fashion. Interpret technical drawings and provide feedback on errors/suggest changes to the originator using the company's ISO change control procedure if appropriate. Support the team by addressing problems/issues that can be resolved within the department. Check the build quality of work being produced by other team members as required and influence build standards for the department. Highlight any issues with floor stock levels to ensure consumables are available for the mechanical team. Complete all paperwork needed for the job and ensure it is accurate and up to date. Help maintain a clean, tidy workshop environment and ensure work areas are organized. Communicate effectively with the Production Supervisor if the Production Team Leader is not in the factory. Suggest improvements to designs and work practices to help improve efficiency through the department. Personal Characteristics & Skills: Extensive mechanical fitting experience (some fabrication experience would be beneficial). Good attention to detail. Good problem-solving skills. Methodical approach. Able to work autonomously and as part of a team. Approachable and helpful demeanor. Able to train and guide less experienced members of staff. Desire to learn and improve. Good communication skills. Experience: MIG welding: 2 years (required) Application Instructions:
