is currently recruiting an experienced
Senior Mechanical Handling Engineer
to join a world-leading nuclear defence client based out of Devonport dockyard. Job Overview: Our client provides major new or upgraded dock, berth, and building infrastructure projects to support ship and submarine sustainment programs. Some of your duties will include: Drafting technical design documentation including requirements, design reports, presentations, and calculations. Overseeing and supporting the generation of a 3D model, 2D CAD drawings, and BOMs. Drafting technical queries and change records. Overseeing the conversion of existing design records into a 3D model. Maintaining and updating the project registers of technical queries, change requests, design review requests, and design review actions. Determining durations for design tasks to support the principal engineer and project manager in planning activities. What do you need to succeed? Demonstrable experience and knowledge of engineering works, e.g., mechanical handling, mechanical or electrical systems/services. Knowledge of cranes is not essential but desirable. Experience in mechanical design is essential, including new or modifications to structures and systems, covering concept, detail design, implementation, and commissioning. A proven track record in completing work packages in a highly regulated environment. Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor or similar software to oversee and support the production of models and drawings of mechanical components. Experience in using MathCAD to draft technical calculations.
