We are seeking a full time Senior Medical Photographer to join our Media Studio’s photography and video team, producing high quality medical, ophthalmic and general photography for the Trust and its partner organisations on the Biomedical Campus. The post holder will be expected to work on site and also in clinics off site to help the expansion of our new teledermatology service and Ophthalmic hub. Media Studio is a modern department providing a comprehensive medical illustration service in a dynamic and expanding environment. The clinical photography team photographs a large number of patients in our studios, and in wards and departments of the hospital, as well as public relations photography for the Trust and other organisations on and off the site. Media Studio also provides video production, graphic design and print services in a friendly, collaborative and productive environment. Main duties of the job

Duties primarily are clinical and ophthalmic photography, but will also include general and PR photography and video production. You will ideally have a degree in clinical photography or equivalent qualification and/or experience, be proficient in the use of current photographic equipment and image processing software, and be able to demonstrate good photographic skills and a high degree of attention to detail. The post holder will be expected to work and help manage the offsite hubs covering ophthalmic and teledermatology photography as well as work as part of a team of photographers on the Addenbrooke’s site covering histopathology, clinical and ophthalmic photography. The post holder will be responsible for auditing clinical photography and ensuring standards are high and consistent throughout the team. You will also be responsible for training all new clinical photographers and helping new starters through a competency pack. Medical Photography The clinical photography service includes routine clinical photography and video records, both in the studio and on location, photography and video in clinical trials, photography and video of operative and post mortem procedures, gross specimens, personal injury photography and photography of stillbirths. Media Studio provides a comprehensive photography, design and video service with senior photographers taking responsibility for the maintenance and deployment of specialist skills. Qualifications

Degree in Photography or equivalent BSc or MSc in Medical photography/ Medical Illustration Evidence of CPD activity. Graduate or postgraduate certificate, postgraduate diploma, IMI PEC, or equivalent. Evidence of a management / leadership course. Registered as a Medical illustration practitioner with AHCS. Experience

Clinical photography: studio, ward, operating theatre and dermoscopy. General (non-clinical) professional photography. Ophthalmic imaging: slit-lamp, retinal, fluorescein angiography, scanning laser ophthalmoscopy, Optical Coherence Tomography. Video camera, lighting and/or sound recording. Reprographic imaging: copy photography, scanning and processing of digital images to a high standard. Knowledge

Photographic principles, e.g. colour management, image manipulation, understanding of lighting principles and relevant photographic theory. Anatomy, physiology, medical terminology to an appropriate level. Ophthalmic imaging principles; anatomy of the eye. Image databases and their applications. Skills

Competent clinical photographer. Good, professional communication with patients, public and staff. Image processing skills – e.g. Adobe Photoshop – to a professional level. Management or leadership experience Use of ophthalmic imaging equipment. Additional software skills; e.g. MS Office. (Word, Powerpoint), video editing (Apple Final Cut Pro), page layout (Adobe InDesign). Additional Requirements
