Senior Mental Health Nurse – Prison

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our dedicated team working within a high-security facility on the Isle of Wight Prison. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering a salary of £44,962 annually. What you will do: Manage your own caseload, including assessment, monitoring, and provision of specialist nursing interventions to individuals with mental health needs. Provide a range of interventions across the integrated offender health model, supporting primary care and wellbeing interventions. Handle referrals from primary care and external teams, developing and implementing individual care programmes. Ensure care coordination with other services, particularly during release planning. Maintain and ensure confidentiality in all aspects of patient information and records. Develop and sustain professional relationships with service users, relatives, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-standard mental health care. Deliver training and mentorship to staff, students, and service users, promoting mental health awareness. Participate in service evaluations, research, and modernisation projects to uphold quality care standards. Adhere to all legal, professional, and local guidelines pertinent to mental health care within the criminal justice system.
