Senior Network Engineer

We are currently partnering with a leading educational institution in Brighton, who are recruiting for a Senior Network Officer to join their Network Services team on a permanent basis. This is a full-time position that offers hybrid working with flexibility around working hours. The role is based at their main campus with occasional travel to other sites required. The ideal candidate will have extensive practical experience in enterprise network infrastructure and a strong focus on customer service. Duties include: Managing and maintaining enterprise-level network infrastructure Configuring and supporting enterprise routers, switches, and firewalls Performing network monitoring and fault diagnosis Providing technical advice to stakeholders across the organisation Implementing and maintaining wireless networks Contributing to change management procedures Developing innovative networking solutions Skills and experience required: Detailed knowledge of LAN and WAN protocols Strong understanding of the ISO network model Experience with application delivery controllers Proven track record in network service maintenance Ability to handle enterprise-level networking equipment Experience in methodical change control procedures Capability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences Benefits include: Hybrid working arrangements Bank holidays plus additional discretionary days between Christmas and New Year Access to pool vehicles for work travel Working hours: Occasional out-of-hours work required Flexible working arrangements available Please note that physical capability to transport networking equipment is required for this role, and some sites may not be accessible by public transport.
