We're seeking a seasoned Data Centre Network Specialist (EN03) to lead our data centre network infrastructure, with an understanding of BGP EVPN/VXLAN technologies. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert, adept at automation, governance & frameworks and capable of communicating technical concepts across a range of stakeholders.

CNI are at the start of an exciting journey, our vision to drive long term value for Nationwide Building Society by providing simple cost-effective infrastructure, consumable in well-defined services with minimal fuss; ultimately to be so good you don’t even notice us!

At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. What you’ll be doing

You will drive the implementation of the Core Network Infrastructure Strategy, leading projects that enhance network capabilities and resilience. You will play a pivotal role in developing and upholding robust network governance frameworks, ensuring adherence to standards and best practices.

Within your SME area you will own and improve products and procedures, help to plan for short to mid-term roadmaps and investment, ensuring that we remain within risk and service level tolerance and are delivering capabilities fit for the future of the org.

You will work together with your peers, making sure that roadmaps and delivery priorities across CNI align and are delivering value against the overall strategic objectives whilst keeping us safe.

From the very beginning, you'll be entrusted with the leadership and mentorship of a team of engineers. This role offers exciting opportunities for growth and development, and we encourage you to embrace them with enthusiasm. What makes us different

Nationwide is the world’s largest building society. With over 15 million customers, we have a relationship with almost a quarter of the UK’s population. We’ve got the scale to compete with the big banks, but we’re not a bank.

As a building society, we’re owned by our members – that’s our customers who have their current account, mortgage or savings with us. It means we can do things differently to deliver our Purpose – Banking – but fairer, more rewarding, and for the good of society.

When you work at Nationwide, you can experience that difference for yourself. You’ll be part of a high-performing, purpose-driven organisation that offers rewarding career experiences and a highly competitive range of benefits to match. You’ll also be joining us at an important time as we seek to reach more and more people in the UK. We want everyone in the UK to know that they don’t have to bank with a bank. They can choose a modern mutual instead.
