Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust provides health and social care services in acute and primary care settings, community hospitals, and care centres, through the 11,000 employed staff. The Trust spans over two counties of North Tyneside and Northumberland, and has a main WAN MPLS between the main hospitals in those regions.

Northumbria Digital Services team provide IT services to all of the Trust's directorates, departments and subsidiaries. This role is to support the team to ensure the campus LAN, WAN and Wi-Fi services are correctly designed, implemented, secured and supported to match the digital delivery needs and ambitions of the Trust's digital strategy.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the management and performance of client network infrastructure LAN/WAN, WLAN and DC, providing pro-active support to ensure maximum availability of service in line with Trust service level agreements.

To be a point of escalation through the network operational team, from the digital services department and the Network technician, engineer and associate roles.

Job responsibilities

To ensure high availability, security and usability of the network that is transparent to users.

To plan and organise a range of complex activities related to implementation of new systems including liaison with suppliers and end users, production of work plans and monitoring these to ensure completion on time and within assigned costs.

To develop and maintain efficient management of all networked systems under the control of Service.

Essential

It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid UK driving licence and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role. However, the Trust would consider making reasonable adjustments to the role, if necessary, to enable a disabled person to undertake the role.

Qualifications

Essential

Degree in a computer related discipline or equivalent level of knowledge or experience. Further staff and project management knowledge to post graduate diploma level or equivalent experience in a relevant computer related discipline. Additional specialist network related knowledge acquired through post graduate study or equivalent experience in a relevant computer services discipline. Specialist knowledge across range of project management procedures and techniques underpinned by theory. Appropriate industry recognised qualifications e.g. CCNA or CCNP, or equivalent.

Desirable

Management or supervisory Qualification. TIL, VMWare, Hyper Visor. CCNP Cyber Ops, Enterprise, Data Centre, or Security.

Experience

Essential

Experience in design, development and implementation of IT Network Infrastructure and best practices across a large organization. Significant experience of managing a Network infrastructure LAN, WAN, WLAN across multiple sites. Working experience and knowledge of VSS, Flex stack, Cisco Firepower, Data Centre Technologies, Cisco Unified Communication, Wireless Network Infrastructure.

Desirable

Big-IP F5 LTM. Solarwinds, Logic Monitor. Cisco ISE, WLC, Spaces.
