An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an Senior NPD Technologist to join our NPD Department at our busy Preston site near Hull. The successful candidate will be a key member of the team, responsible for delivering projects from concept to launch, working closely with both internal teams and customers.

Main Duties Include (but not limited to):

Product Development: Work closely with the NPD Chef and other teams to develop new concepts and ensure products meet the specifications for consumer and business needs, with a strong focus on quality and innovation.

Customer Engagement: Act as a key contact for customers, participating in presentations and responding to feedback, ensuring effective communication throughout the product development process.

Project Management: Manage development projects from customer brief to launch, ensuring all aspects are delivered on time and meet customer and business requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside departments including technical, operations, and commercial teams to ensure the smooth launch of new products and compliance with company policies.

Cost Considerations: Ensure new product developments align with commercial requirements, including managing ingredient costs and publishing accurate recipes for costing and sign-off.

Market Insight: Stay informed on market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activity, contributing to benchmarking and concept development.

Launch process custodian: Ensure meticulous adherence to the product development process, rigorously overseeing each stage's completion, accurate documentation, and effective communication with key stakeholders.

You Will Have:

A strong passion for food and innovation

Strong communication skills and customer-facing experience

Previous experience in a similar role within the food industry

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple projects and work cross-functionally

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
