Engineering Manager Nitronica are a locally owned and managed company with a manufacturing facility in Ballynahinch, Co. Down, Northern Ireland. We provide contract electronic manufacturing services including; pcb assembly, cable assembly, electro-mechanical assembly, cabinet/ panel build and full product build. Nitronica serves a diverse customer base, from local start-ups and small to medium-sized enterprises to large global corporations, with a presence in the UK, Ireland, Europe, and the USA. We supply customers operating in a variety of industry sectors, including aerospace, agriculture, automotive, consumer, defence and security, energy, industrial, measuring & testing, oil & gas, rail and semiconductor. Our clientele spans various sectors and geographies, showcasing our ability to provide high-quality electronic manufacturing services to a wide range of businesses. Job Summary: Responsible for the management, control, and coordination of New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from the quoting phase through to product realisation. The role ensures a seamless transfer of the project into production while meeting deadlines, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. Main responsibilities: Project Management: Lead and manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring effective planning, execution, and delivery. Manufacturing Data Conversion: Translate customer drawings and specifications into manufacturing data. Bill of Materials (BOM) Creation: Develop bills of materials and product structures for manufacturing. Process Documentation: Create operator build instructions and process documentation for production teams. Process Optimisation: Assign process times and select the most efficient manufacturing processes to maximise productivity. Customisation and Technical Support: Provide technical support for customisations of existing product designs and build-to-print products. Essential Criteria: A minimum of 5 years' experience in an engineering manufacturing environment. Experience with mechanical and electrical assemblies and a solid understanding of associated manufacturing processes. Proven project management experience. Desirable Criteria: A degree or HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Prior experience in printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) manufacturing engineering is highly preferred. Experience in cable manufacturing, electro-mechanical assembly, and system integration is advantageous. Familiarity with programming equipment and machinery used in surface-mount printed circuit assembly (PCBA) manufacturing. Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software packages. Experience using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
