£48,060 - £50,031 per annum Purpose of the Role: As a Senior Occupational Therapist within our dynamic multi-disciplinary team, you will play a crucial role within Health and Adult Social Care. Your responsibilities will involve conducting assessments for older individuals, adults with disabilities, and disabled children, aligning with the principles outlined in the 'Care Act 2014'. Your objective is to assess eligible individuals, provide advice, and make recommendations aimed at enhancing wellbeing and quality of life. This includes maximising independence, supporting caregivers, and contributing to service development. Additionally, you will oversee junior staff members, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery. Key Accountabilities: Management

Provide supervision for students on placements. Offer support to Occupational Therapy Assistants.

Quality

Uphold high-quality standards across all assessment and service delivery aspects.

Policy Implementation

Implement and oversee the Safeguarding Adults policy & procedure. Ensure adherence to Health and Safety policies. Stay updated on professional practice, legislation, and Central Government guidance.

Monitoring

Manage, monitor, and review care plans in collaboration with users and carers.

Data Recording

Contribute to the development and management of team systems. Accurately record information and data related to cases. Collaborate with Administrative Officers to enhance system knowledge and applications.

Service Development and Delivery

Facilitate customer participation in service delivery, monitoring, and evaluation. Initiate research, recommend best practices, and implement policy changes. Support the development and operation of workload management systems. Conduct complex assessments and care planning. Provide recommendations for appropriate care packages and referrals. Arrange and oversee the provision of specialist equipment and major adaptations.

Other Duties

Undertake additional responsibilities as requested by management.

Essential Job Specifications:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in English with excellent numeric and literacy abilities. Competent in using information technology systems. Registered Occupational Therapist with HCPC. Experience in health or social care settings as an Occupational Therapist. Detailed knowledge of legislative frameworks and local policies. Ability to work effectively with multiple agencies. Proficient in case recording and report writing. Experience in supervision and reflective practice facilitation.

Qualifications & Professional Registration Criteria:

Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy recognised by the College of Occupational Therapists. Registered with Health Professions Council.

Ability to travel independently within the borough. Access to a vehicle and clean driving licence.
