We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Stroke Early Supported Discharge Team based within the Frimley Park Hospital locality, as a Senior Occupational Therapist.

We are looking for a dynamic, professional and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist, to join our friendly and supportive team. This is an ideal opportunity to build upon your existing knowledge and develop neurological skills within a top-class community service.

The successful candidate would be expected to work with the team to provide excellent patient care, but also provide supervision and support to other members and participate in service development to ensure we are always facing the future. They should be able to travel between patient's homes and may be expected to participate in a bank holiday and weekend service.

The team works closely with their acute colleagues and are part of the local Integrated Stroke Development Network, both of which support clinical, professional, and pathway development.

We have great CPD opportunities within the Trust and work in a very cohesive team to facilitate personal development in relation to complex care and leadership skills.

Main duties of the job

The Stroke Early Supported Discharge team covers an area of East Berkshire, Surrey, and Hampshire, providing intensive stroke rehabilitation to those patients discharged from the acute wards but also from stroke clinics and emergency care.

Responsibilities include clinical management of patients and completion of relevant paperwork.

To contribute to the continued development and maintenance of efficiency and safety in the Stroke ESD team.

To be flexible at times of increased capacity to the service.

The Senior OT contributes to the provision, co-ordination, and development of OT services with the OT Team Leaders, assists in training and supervising other staff and students, and participates in administrative and clinical functions of the Stroke ESD team as a whole.
