Join Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD) as a Senior Occupational Therapist (OT)! At CFHD we aim to provide an innovative and integrated model of children's community services. We are excited to invite passionate professionals to join our dedicated teams. We are seeking a Senior OT with a focus on early childhood development. The role involves providing expert OT services to children and young people within the Torbay and South Devon locality. You will also support and mentor junior and training staff, ensuring high standards in assessment, intervention, and clinical governance across the Early Child Development (ECD) pathway. As part of our supportive community service, you'll become a valued member of a collaborative network of specialists. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a practitioner with an interest in early years, sensory development, and complex neurodevelopmental needs. You'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team supporting young children with a range of developmental, sensory, and attachment challenges. Hold responsibility for the assessment and treatment of a caseload within a designated geographical area, ensuring competence and capability. Use a strengths-based approach to ensure clinical effectiveness through evidence-based interventions, goal-based, collaborative practice, and Routine Outcome Measures. Deliver specialist occupational therapy advice, assessment, and interventions to children and young people facing challenges in maximising occupational performance across various settings. Interventions may include direct therapy, coaching, training, provision of adaptive equipment as required. Provide early help/light touch interventions for issues such as sleep, communication, and positive behavioural support. Supervise/ mentor and support junior staff and students. About us

Qualifications and training

Degree in Occupational Therapy HCPC registration Diploma level specialist training or experience Post-graduate certified courses specific to children's needs (e.g. Sensory training; ADOS, 3di etc) Membership of professional body (RCOT) Knowledge and experience

To work within trust clinical guidelines and Royal College of OT and HCPC standards. To have working knowledge of national and local standards and monitor own quality and safety of practice Extensive knowledge of Occupational Therapy models of practice and specialist approaches Extensive knowledge of legislation affecting clinical practice such as manual handling, housing and SEND Knowledge and experience of a wide range of Occupational Therapy therapeutic interventions for children and young people including but not inclusive to: manual handling, specialist equipment, 24-hour postural management, fine motor, sensory differences and housing adaptations.
