This is a temporary 8-month secondment role for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the supportive team at Gateway Recovery Centre in Widnes. You will be responsible for managing a caseload, completing assessments, planning therapeutic sessions, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to service users' care plans. The role involves a flexible programme of OT groups and individual interventions, as well as supervising Occupational Therapy Assistants.
Main duties of the job
As an Occupational Therapist, you will join the supportive team at Gateway Recovery Centre in Widnes - a service where you will help people with complex mental health needs to develop new skills and build a brighter future. You will be working alongside the Occupational Therapy team in an 8-month secondment role, managing a designated caseload and responsible for completing assessments, planning therapeutic sessions, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to service users' care plans. You will have experience in managing a designated caseload and will be responsible for completing assessments, planning therapeutic sessions, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to service users' care plans. This role involves: Facilitating a flexible programme of OT groups and individual interventions. Planning and implementing interventions and therapeutic activities. Evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans. Supervising Occupational Therapy Assistants. To be successful in this role: Current HPC registration and full BOAT membership with evidence of Continuing Professional Development. Knowledge and use of a range of OT assessments and outcome measures. Experience of working within a similar setting. BSc (Hons) or equivalent occupational therapy qualification. Minimum of 1 year post qualification experience as an Occupational Therapist. Where you will be working: Location: Bennett’s Lane, Widnes, Warrington, WA8 0GT. You will be working at the Gateway Recovery Centre, a state-of-the-art facility which provides care for men and women with complex mental health requirements.
