The Senior O&M Engineer – Cost Modelling is a relevant role within the Offshore Renewables Business, focussing on assisting New Projects teams in the management and development of current and future windfarms. This role will include working closely with Contracts, Site, Control, Insurance and Procurement. Belonging to the Growth and Partnerships team, reporting to the Competitiveness and Cost Modelling Manager, you will develop OPEX and WTG availability values for projects under different phases of development working closely with the Growth, Bids and New Countries team and O&M Package Managers, building and analysing OPEX models in preparation for auctions, bids and readiness for FID. This role will be supporting the identification, assessment and creation of procedures to support cost modelling and continuous improvement. In addition, you will be the back office support to the business for optimising budget for future projects. You will be working as part of a global business with activities in many countries across the world (US, EU, UK, APAC). This position may require frequent travel to various locations and you should be capable of managing teams working at different project locations. Responsibilities

Collaborating in the strategy and development of OPEX for projects under development working closely the O&M Package Leads, you will hold accountability in the strategy and development of WTG availability values. Within this key role of the team delivering OPEX and availability models, supporting all new projects and opportunities brought to the offshore business, you will evaluate financial impacts of strategic choices and suggest alternatives for O&M within different projects, providing proactive recommendations and advice on OPEX management. Supporting the review of Budget, Forecast and Variance Analysis, you will ensure the teams procurement processes apply ScottishPower Renewables best practices and procedures. Producing cost-benefit analysis, providing optimal logistic strategies solutions, you will evaluate industry benchmarks and coordinate external projects whilst providing expert specialist technical advice on appropriate bid levels / programme strategies / specialist technical strategies / risk levels and commercial agreements relative to a multi-million pound, multi-disciplinary, multi-contract work package, ensuring that cost effective specialist technical solutions are identified, fully evaluated and the risk profile is fully understood by the project. Ensuring all specialist technical assessment, advice and recommendations are fully documented in accordance with all internal procedures, industry best practice and that sufficient technical and commercial due diligence (whether internal or external) exists to support those business decisions, you will also consider and adhere to design of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements which comply with legislation and industry best practice. Maintaining full awareness of the latest specialist technical developments, you will identify and assess suitable new technologies (including software and analytical techniques) that has potential to reduce cost, risk or improve safety. To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate as minimum: Your degree qualification with significant experience negotiating high value contracts. Significant Postgraduate experience in industry with significant experience in Offshore Wind. Strong financial acumen and an understanding of cost and income drivers within an asset management business, you will hold highly developed influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to obtain buy in from all levels of the organisation and external providers to deliver effective operational processes. Strong ability to manage own performance with a significant focus on delivery and an ability to balance a varied and challenging workload, whilst producing high quality results in demanding timeframes. IT literacy with the ability to operate MS Office systems and other IT based project management software. Comprehensive knowledge of offshore procedures, standards and guidance. Ability to influence and lead a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and suppliers focused on differing interests which requires a high level of business knowledge, influencing and negotiating experience, you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
