About the Role We are seeking an experienced OT Cyber consultant to join our organisation focused on improving security and resilience across our Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Internet-of-Things (IIoT) estates. The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team, providing subject matter expertise in:
Governance reviews of new and existing systems against our Cyber Security Management System (CSMS) Assessing legacy environments against hybrid requirements from frameworks such as IEC 62443 and NCSC CAF Making risk-based recommendations for improvements Contributing to the ongoing development of the CSMS, proposing new components to address evolving threats and align with industry best practices and compliance obligations. About the Candidate The ideal candidate will have experience performing similar roles in Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) organisations. They will possess a strong background in Cyber Security and/or Automation Engineering, with substantial knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and protection of CNI OT systems.
Desired Experience
5+ years' experience in OT operation, maintenance, and security (preferably within CNI) Performing NCSC CAF assessments Working with IEC 62443 standards, particularly 2-1, 3-2, and 3-3 (certification preferred) Conducting risk assessments to industry-standard frameworks Threat modelling for OT systems On-site assessments of industrial facilities Patch management procedures and best practices for OT Designing and implementing OT cybersecurity programs or initiatives Desired Knowledge
Deep knowledge of OT and IIoT-specific protocols, systems, and vendors, including OPC (Classic and UA), S7, Ethernet/IP, MQTT, and fieldbus protocols; SCADA, PLCs, EWS, radio communications Networking expertise, including routing, switching, and firewall solutions Secure Remote Access solutions for OT Awareness of OT-specific risks, attack techniques, and historical cyberattacks Desired Skills
Leading OT security assessments and audits with actionable recommendations Proficiency with OT security assessment tools Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage senior management and operational teams effectively If interested, please apply and I will be in touch asap.
