Salary: £28,000 to £30,000 per annum
The role will be working with the very busy Personal Medical and Injury department and you will be an integral part of the team from day one.
Key duties and responsibilities
To take new inquiries into the team
To draft and advise clients on funding arrangements
To attend to clients both on the telephone and in person, ensuring appropriate advice is provided and where necessary escalating to more senior fee earners
To maintain existing files and set up new files accurately, ensuring that the Department’s and Firm’s file management procedures are accurately carried out, including filing of all documents, correspondence, attendance notes and time records
Collating and marshalling documents to experts, courts and barristers
Monitoring client ledgers, paying invoices, billing, maintaining costs information
Drafting instructions to experts, pleadings and other documents necessary for the claim
Legal research
To assist in the preparation of management information and marketing documents, e.g. blogs, profiles, panel applications
To provide a consistently high standard of work
To work unsupervised as and when required
To undertake any other duties which from time to time may be allocated
The successful candidate will have previous experience in Personal Medical and Injury and the ability to carry out the above key duties and responsibilities is essential. You will have excellent attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple activities, organised and methodical with a can-do attitude.
You will be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills as you will be liaising with clients on a regular basis. An essential criterion is a good working knowledge of IT systems, a good typing speed would be helpful.
Please note this department deals with complex cases of a highly sensitive nature, you will be dealing with bereaved families and clients who have been exposed to traumatic events.
