Our client is seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator to join their team in Glasgow. This role offers the opportunity to work within a leading global financial services firm, providing a wide range of investment banking, securities, investment management and wealth management services. The successful candidate will perform a key role within the UK Payroll team, reporting to the UK Payroll manager. This position incorporates a combination of project work, ownership of key monthly/annual processes, people management, statutory accounting, payroll controls, risk and governance ownership.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Payroll Administrator, your role will be pivotal in ensuring smooth operations within the UK Payroll team. You will be responsible for maintaining strong partnerships with vendors while also keeping an open line of communication with senior leadership. Your expertise in current payroll legislation will be crucial in planning for future changes. You will also have governance and oversight responsibility for timely and accurate disbursement of all payroll-related payments. Your ability to liaise effectively with both internal and external auditors will be essential in this role.

Ensure all controls and legislation are adhered for each UK payroll run for all payroll cycles. Maintain a strong partnership with the UK payroll vendor. Maintain an open dialogue with senior leadership raising awareness of all potential or actual issues as you become aware. Enhance the Payroll control framework around all payroll responsibilities including SOX and internal controls. Maintain a detailed understanding of current payroll legislation, with a proactive approach to plan for future changes. Manage update of key metrics to optimize resource usage and identify improvements. Governance an oversight responsibility for the timely and accurate disbursement of all payroll related payments through BACS. Liaise with internal and external auditors to assist with understanding the key processes, giving access to systems for sample testing and providing evidence of key controls.
