We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and committed Pharmacy Technician to provide leadership and co-ordination of the clinical pharmacy service.

You will carry out the line management of pharmacy technicians and assistants, workforce planning, supervision and training for the medicines management accreditation and delivery of medicines reconciliation systems within University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.

You will assist the Pharmacy Technician and Assistant Team Lead for Clinical Services in all aspects of the provision of a high quality, safe and effective Pharmacy Technician and Assistant clinical pharmacy service within the Trust.

Main duties of the job Organise and manage the day to day activities of the Pharmacy Technician led medicine optimisation service to all wards in conjunction with ward pharmacists, medicines optimisation Pharmacy Technicians and pharmacy assistants, ensuring the timely supply of medications to patients on wards. Undertake line management of designated staff members taking responsibility for performance review including appraisal and objective setting, personal development plans, absence management at all stages in accordance with Trust HR policies alongside local development strategies and professional competency frameworks. Communicate and act as a support for staff members in difficult or emotional circumstances. Undertake recruitment and selection of technical staff including updating of job descriptions and advising on present and future requirements for staffing and skill mix.
