Job Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for the ordering, receipt and safe handling of pharmaceuticals. You will also be responsible for the stockholding and supply of pharmaceutical products to all wards and clinic areas, stock management of pharmaceuticals in Pharmacy along with the recording, storage and handling of pharmaceutical waste. Responsible for the pharmacy management of medical gases. To supervise month end and ensure year end procedures are carried out. Expected to take part in dispensing and a wider range of pharmacy duties when required. Monitor and report on audit initiatives regarding medical gas cylinder storage and handling to meet current guidelines. Manage stock levels and ordering requirements for medical gas cylinders in liaison with pharmacy porters, and prepare monthly report on medical gases expenditure. Prepare/ensure procedures are in place for all aspects of medical gas cylinder storage and use, to ensure safe handling of medical gas cylinders. Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

GCSE English, Maths, and Science or equivalent. Level 3 / BTEC Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent. Registration with GPhC as a pharmacy technician. Experience of training staff. Physical Skills

Essential

To be physically fit, able to stand for long periods of time, able to lift and manoeuvre heavy loads. Aptitudes

Essential

Understanding stock control issues. Knowledge of office procedures. Good problem-solving skills. Communication Skills

Essential

Good written and verbal communication skills. Good telephone manner. Good listening skills. Able to communicate complex information to patient/careers/drug companies in an appropriate manner to achieve understanding.
