Job summary

We are recruiting for a Senior Physiotherapist to join our Locality Therapies team on the Isle of Wight. This role requires flexible and innovative Physiotherapists to work within a Multidisciplinary Rehabilitation Team rotating between three Localities. You will be asked to support the development of staff and support a step by step implementation of 7 day a week working. These and other transformations will promote greater accessibility to rehabilitation for the population of the Isle of Wight. You will help increase function and promote independence through a range of therapeutic interventions in various settings including in a person's home. With the opportunity to share your previous knowledge and partake in the sharing of up-to-date evidence-based practice research, peer support, local training, national conference and training attendance. Main duties, tasks & skills required

Independently perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations, complex physical and psychological conditions, to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme. You will hold responsibility for your own caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, working without direct supervision. Supervision will take the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, and case conferences. Access to advice and support from colleagues will be available if required. Undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner. Undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to further your own and the team's clinical practice within each rotation. Make recommendations to Team Lead/Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist for changes to practice. About us

Qualifications

Essential

Degree / Diploma in Physiotherapy. HCPC Registration. Continued Professional Development Diary including evidence of reflective practice, in-service training, any courses attended, and clinical experience gained.

Desirable

Membership of special interest group. Relevant post-graduate accredited training e.g., Normal Movement. Experience

Essential

Broad range of experience at junior level including ICU, medical, surgery, neurology, musculoskeletal outpatients, and elderly care. Demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of best clinical practice in relevant specialty. Participation in 7-day service weekend rota. Experience of working as part of a physiotherapy team and multidisciplinary team. Remains up to date with professional practice and new research. Understands the legal responsibilities of the profession. Understanding of Clinical Governance and the implications for physiotherapy services including experience of quality issues and audit. Ability to comprehend and work within the Trust's policies of data protection, equal opportunities, and Health and Safety to meet the differing needs of the patient. Desirable

In-depth knowledge of national and local clinical guidelines in relevant area. Previous experience at senior level. Student supervision / clinical education. Additional Criteria

Essential

Ability to organise, prioritise and delegate. Willingness to participate in staff training. Ability to work within multi/interdisciplinary teams and set team goals, including discharge planning. Willing to work flexible hours, if necessary, to meet the needs of the service. Desirable
