Main duties of the job Applicants will be able to evidence post-graduate experience in the fields of acute stroke care and stroke rehabilitation. They will also have experience of the in and out-patient rehabilitation of patients with a wide range of other neurological conditions. Applicants will be responsible, along with the rest of the senior team, for supervising more junior physiotherapists, TI’s, and assistants based within the team.
Hours will be worked to support the 7-day provision of inpatient stroke care and applicants will be expected to have a flexible approach to this.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities The Trust provides clinical placements for students from Sheffield and Nottingham and applicants will have experience of supporting students on undergraduate placements. The Trust is committed to supporting and developing staff through appraisals and the supervision process. Senior staff have individual supervision and peer support as well as access to training.

Person specification Qualifications and Training
Qualification in Physiotherapy at degree level or equivalent.
Skills and Knowledge
Awareness of Trust and NHS wide initiatives
Knowledge of current drivers of service improvement in relation to stroke rehabilitation
Time management and prioritisation skills.
Demonstrate knowledge of neurological conditions and their management.
Experience in evaluation of practice
Evidence of CPD in Neurological Physiotherapy
Involvement in department, Trust or NHS wide initiatives
Involvement in clinical audit.
Involvement in service and interdisciplinary development
Experience
Postgraduate experience of in-patient stroke care and/or in and out-patient neurological rehabilitation.
