An exciting opportunity has arisen for maternity cover for a Senior Positive Behavioural Analyst with a keen interest in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Autism and Learning disability to work within our early intervention Mental Health Support Team (MHST). The post holder will be involved in the continuing development and implementation of the MHST for Special Schools across Hertfordshire and West Essex. This is a unique expanding MHST working solely in SEN schools. The MHST's are working in collaboration with schools to increase and improve emotional and mental health provision within education settings for 5-18 year olds. The team currently works with 46 schools across Hertfordshire and West Essex, and plans are developing to expand the offer to more schools across the integrated care board. The MHSTs will deliver evidence-based interventions supporting emotional wellbeing including group interventions, individual interventions, consultation, and training and incorporates full assessments of care needs and risk assessments. The ultimate aim of the MHST is to support a whole school approach to develop, build and support emotional well-being. This role requires you to drive across Hertfordshire and West Essex. You must hold a full valid driving license, and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010). The post is based in Sandridge Gate, St Albans with regular planned travel across Hertfordshire and West Essex. To provide clinical support to CYP/families and school supporting behaviours that challenge, sleep, toileting, eating. To offer early intervention group support. To maintain and develop all resources. To support and supervise staff team. To provide training and learning opportunities for the team. To liaise and network with schools and other professionals. To have a vast knowledge of clinical interventions and how to adapt for the SEN population. To be adaptable in your working style to meet the needs of the schools we work with. The ideal candidate will be board certified - UKBA(certified) and regulated by the UK-SBAs register. Able to oversee all clinical interventions and resources within the service. Able to plan and lead workshops and therapeutic groups. Work in partnership with schools. Provide training and support to schools. Provide clinical supervision to Band 5, 6 and 7 staff. Provide learning and development opportunities for the whole team. Offer a consultation service to other MHSTs. Continue to develop and evolve the service. Assess and manage risk and safeguarding. Able to establish and maintain effective inter-agency and inter-team communication. To provide specialist assessment, intervention, advice and consultation on CYPs care to colleagues, professionals from other agencies and to other non-professional carers. Able to maintain a high degree of professionalism when working in settings where there is a highly emotive atmosphere. Flexible in their approach and have resilience under pressure. Able to work both in a team environment and autonomously. Person Specification

Qualifications

MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis and / or Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of working clinically with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities and / or an autistic spectrum disorder including the application of Applied Behaviour Analysis. Experience of providing clinical supervision. Experience of multi-disciplinary team working. Experience of development, implementation and evaluation of positive behaviour support plans. Full valid driving license. Access to a car to use regularly for business purposes. Experience of service quality monitoring. Experience of working in a mental health setting with children and young people. Experience of working in schools. Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. £46,148 to £52,809 a year per annum pro rata including fringe rate.
