Senior / Principal Civil Engineer

Senior Civil Engineer Nottingham My client is an award-winning, employee-owned Design Consultancy with offices across the UK. The business has grown from strength to strength over the last 60 years, and due to another increase in workload, an opportunity has arisen in their vibrant Nottingham office for a Principal or Senior Civil Engineer to lead their team. They are well known locally for working on projects like Brackenhurst workshops, Nottingham Trent University, Thames Park Academy, and Leeds Royal Infirmary. They are engaged in stimulating and demanding projects, such as the new DfE offsite framework, the adoption of MMC, and meeting the NHS zero building standard. They are looking for someone with project delivery experience, who is able to work somewhat independently while the team grows. They would also consider applicants who have experience managing people and projects and can help them become a more established team quickly so they can take on more work. Responsibilities: Independently lead the delivery of a wide variety of project types, including client liaison, financial management, and quality management. Support and mentor other Engineers and Technicians in the development of their design and project information. Take a leading role on projects, incorporating client liaison, developing new & existing business relationships, and mentoring of more junior or less skilled staff. Qualifications: Experience in the engineering design of both the public realm and new development infrastructure. Technical design excellence and a detailed understanding of relevant approvals processes for highways, earthworks, and drainage design/adoption, including SuDS. Experience with roads and drainage design, working in accordance with section 38s, 104s & 278s, within development-led projects. Proficiency in Civils3D, MicroDrainage, and PDS software is preferable.
