Key responsibilities Lead our work around bioreactor design optimisation and adaptation, with a focus on scaling up our patent-pending fermentation process into larger vessels. Help design our pilot and commercial production facilities. Develop and improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality and safety. Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs, minimise waste and increase efficiency. Monitor and analyse process performance metrics, such as yield, productivity, titer, and develop strategies to meet or exceed targets. Establish strategic partnerships to support our goals, and manage our existing R&D partners (CMOs, R&D partners, etc.) Establish and oversee key experiments at lab and pilot scale Requirements
5+ years experience in process engineering BSc or MSc in Engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial or similar) Experience scaling up a bioprocess at large volumes (>1000L) Extensive experience in fermentation processes across a wide range of organisms. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of fungal fermentation Strong background in aerobic fermentations, oxygen uptake, kLa and mass transfer Experience with different types of fermentation Proficient in ALL of the following: process analysis, process modelling, statistical analysis, simulation software, and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
